Journeyman Electrician

Journeyman Electrician

It typically can take 5 or more years to achieve the credentials for a journeyman electrician, and in states where there is no formal licensing process, the individual must have the hands on skills and electrical knowledge that would be required of a licensed journeyman.  A licensed journeyman can work himself, without direct supervision, installing wiring, outlets and fixtures.   A journeyman electrician cannot pull permits.  They must work under those issued to a master.  A journeyman follows a master’s plans and directions, although a journeyman’s duties can vary from employer to employer.
